Herald Article – Aspindale Housing Project Near Completion
The first phase of Aspindale park housing project situated at the junction of High Glen road and Kambuzuma is set to be completed by the end of this month.
Its running under the Aspindale Park Property Development banner, the project comprises 1200 residential stands measuring between 200 square meters and 350 square meters as well as other mixed land uses aimed at supporting the residents. The first phase to be completed this month has 392 housing stands.
“Our contractors Bitumen World are keeping up with their projected programme to complete Phase one of the works by the end of June.”
“Early next week they would have completed the trunk line sewer linking us up with the existing sewer main near High Glen Shopping centre.”
“The water line will be complete and trenching for the stand sewer lines will start. All of Phase one roads have been cleared and compacted. Sub base material is being placed now while Bitumen will start being applied this month,” said Mrs Swan.
She said residential stands will be priced at $85 per square metre and the company is offering payment terms.
“Currently we are selling the residential stands at $85 a square metre and we are offering our customers payment terms between one and three years as well as looking at offering them longer payment terms. We are talking to all banks particularly ZB Bank, Banc ABC, Stanbic and working with them to offer mortgages to our clients on the residential stands. Title deeds will also be provided upon purchase,” she said.
She said the remaining three phases will be completed by the end of this year.
“In August 2017 phase two is expected to have been completed that is civil works and granting of Certificate of Compliance for 382 stands.”
“November 2017, we are targeting completion of phase 3 and 4 civil works, granting of Certificate of compliance for the remaining 436 stands. Industrial development is expected to occur parallel to residential and it will include shops, schools, churches, day-care centres,” she said.
Aspindale Park Project Manager Michael Swan is on record saying there is also an area reserved for small and medium enterprises in a move expected to create employment while serving and supporting the Aspindale Park community.
“Small and medium enterprises will be established in the development to provide access to shops, markets and suppliers within walking distance of the residences. The property boundary will be secured providing a safe haven for families to flourish in,” said Mr Swan.
He said these amenities will create massive scope for employment and economic development as well as investment opportunities.
